Walkerton's inagural development POWER program is starting next week ( April 9th 2019) !
Why Walkerton!
Walkerton is within 30 minutes of POWER HQ. Very succesfull HighSchool with very good set of local coaches. No intown basketball programs available in the area during Spring/Fall.
What good will come out of this?
1. More options for kids in the area to stay healthy and play fun and affordable sport - hopefully all year long.
2.Creating another town team will get cross town competition going with now 3 POWER TOWNS with 100% dedication for cross town competition ( gives us up to minimum of 3 to 6 nearby towns teams to compete) .
3. Ontario Competition Team from a small town(s) !? Yes we did it this year! Players from multiple towns formed 1st POWER REP team competing with GTA and ONTARIO teams.
REP team needs 10-12 players. Not any kids, but ones willing to do followin Persistance ( keep trying till you get it, not quiting beacuse its hard), Obediant ( listen and obey) , Working Hard, positive Energy ( good teamate, optimistic ), Respectfull ( on and off the court) . We know there are lots of them, we just need to give them platform to shine.
Multiple towns clubs identifying commited parents & excited promising talent will create posibility of more REP teams and increasing the value proposition of playing game of Basketball in this region.
